Long-Term Care and Long-Term Care Insurance

Long-term care is defined as care that lasts for an indefinite period of time in duration. An elder may need long-term care when if they fall ill or are unable to care for themselves. Other individuals may also be in need of long-term care if they were involved in a serious accident or had a serious medical condition. Long-term care helps one live as they currently lived.

Medical Support for Children

In most states, child support guidelines require that the cost of health insurance and extraordinary medical expenses of the child be included in establishing each parent's child support obligation.

Enforcement of Child Support

When a court enters an order of child support, it orders one party to pay a certain sum of money to another for the support of a child. The person who is ordered to pay is called the obligor. The person who received the payment is the obligee. The amount of child support that is payable is usually based on state law that takes into consideration the number of children for which an obligor is responsible and the amount of income the obligor earns from all sources.

Institutional Facilities for Delinquents and Civilly Institutionalized Juveniles

If a state institutional facility has deprived a juvenile of his right to mental treatment or has deprived him of any of his civil rights, the juvenile may opt to file suit against the institutional facility. There are two basic methods that the juvenile may seek with respect to relief.

Juveniles and Institutional Facilities

A juvenile may be held in a number of different facilities depending upon the particular issue or problem that the juvenile may have. For example, the juvenile may be arrested for assault and battery and may be held in a juvenile detention facility. Or the juvenile may have battered another individual and following a psychiatric examination, it was concluded that the juvenile was mentally unstable, the juvenile may be confined to a mental institution.
